When a fixed or semi-mobile ducted fume cupboard is included as part of a school’s lab design, it’s also important that an extraction system is fitted to vent the unit and ensure all dust and fumes are safely extracted to the atmosphere.

Whether you are looking to include a ducted fume cupboard within a school’s laboratory refurbishment or require some other type of extraction system, Tecomak has all the expertise you are looking for. We serve a large number of educational institutions across the UK and are highly experienced in science laboratory design and installing all types of chemistry furniture.

Tecomak can fit a suitable extraction system to protect the safety of staff and students. As part of the overall science laboratory design and installation process, we always look at all safety considerations, including the need for extraction of chemicals and other hazardous substances.

We install plastic extraction systems in the case of LEVs dealing with fumes, and metal systems where dust is being extracted. In each case, the air is vented via negative pressure ductwork to avoid potential contamination.

Specialist Extraction Systems

As well as the standard types of fixed, semi-mobile and mobile science lab fume cupboard, Tecomak also installs a number of specialist extract systems for different types of lesson within a school or college.

For instance, the Etchflo fume extraction cabinet is specifically designed for use in areas where etching is carried out, enabling the whole etching process to be performed inside the cabinet. Both the Etchflo cabinet and its extract system are constructed from PVC with a high level of acid resistance, using the same system for venting as with a fumes LEV.

Where we are refurbishing a Design Technology room or kitchen area, we can install a wood dust, welding or hotworks extraction system as needed, choosing from a wide range of products to suit your school or college’s specific needs. We also supply specialist extraction systems for removal of fumes from pottery kilns and laser cutting processes.
